History

The International Schnauzer Pinscher Union “ISPU” was founded on March 19, 1977 as a transnational cynological association for all Schnauzer and Pinscher breeds. In addition to Germany, the founding members were: Sweden, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Poland, Norway, Netherlands, Denmark, Austria, Finland and Yugoslavia. Friends of dog sport have been meeting since 1992 for the ISPU World Championship, which was originally only held for giant schnauzers in the IGP division to promote the properties of the working dog breed.

Since 2017, the World Cup has also been held in the IGP-FH division, which is open to all Schnauzer and Pinscher breeds (Giant Schnauzer, Schnauzer, Miniature Schnauzer, German Pinscher, Miniature Pinscher and Affenpinscher).

International friendship meeting

The lively participation of dog athletes from all over the world shows the great interest in the sporting competition. Over the years, the ISPU World Cup has developed into an international friendship meeting. Many participants take the time to get to know the surrounding area, country and people.

This leaves pleasant memories of the respective stays in the host country and everyone will be happy to talk about experiences and the friendly contacts with foreign dog athletes for a long time afterwards.
